I ran for a second term because I still have work to do. During my first term, I led the effort to put the DeKalb School District in compliance with the GA Department of Audits, advocated and achieved zero based budgeting for the first time in more than 10 years, and pushed for the use of objective data in prioritizing capital projects. All of this while keeping open lines of communication with you, the stakeholders.
My Top Priorities
Facilities - Address needed facility repairs as well as strategic system-wide goals
Fiscal Oversight - Upcoming financial decisions will impact students for decades. Accountability is crucial.
Transparency - Continue consistent outreach and communication with 4 Feedback meetings, newsletters and social media.
